This Refund Policy explains when a donation may be eligible for a refund, how to submit a request, and how refunds are reviewed and processed through GiverImpact.
A contribution is a voluntary payment made to support a campaign and is generally non-refundable. A contributor may submit a voluntary refund request within five days after completing the contribution, subject to this policy, payment-provider rules, and applicable law.
GiverImpact is operated by INTERVT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.
Contributions made through GiverImpact are normally final once the payment has been successfully processed. Changing your mind after making a contribution does not automatically create a right to a refund.
A contributor may submit a voluntary refund request under GiverImpact’s platform Refund Policy within five days after completing the contribution.
The five-day period begins on the date and time shown in the applicable payment transaction record. Submitting a request within this period does not guarantee that the refund will be approved.
Refund eligibility may depend on the reason for the request, the available evidence, the withdrawal status of the funds, whether the funds remain recoverable, payment-provider rules, and applicable law.
GiverImpact may consider a refund request in circumstances including:
To request a voluntary refund under this policy, contact GiverImpact support within five days after completing the contribution.
If the payment was made through PayPal, a bank, card issuer, or another payment provider, you may also use the support or dispute procedure offered by that provider where appropriate. Any request submitted directly to a payment provider will be governed by that provider’s own rules and timelines.
Your request should include:
GiverImpact may review the donation, campaign, payment records, communications, withdrawal status, and any information provided by the donor or campaign organizer.
We may contact the campaign organizer and request additional information before making a decision. We may also temporarily restrict withdrawals while investigating suspected fraud or misuse.
Refund requests are assessed individually based on the available evidence, payment-provider requirements, this policy, and applicable law.
If the campaign organizer has already withdrawn the relevant funds, GiverImpact may contact the organizer and attempt to recover the amount before completing an approved refund.
GiverImpact cannot guarantee recovery where funds have already been transferred to or used by the campaign organizer.
If a refund, reversal, PayPal dispute, bank dispute, or chargeback occurs after the organizer receives the funds, GiverImpact may deduct the relevant amount and associated costs from the organizer’s current balance or future withdrawals.
If the available campaign balance is insufficient, the organizer may be required to return the outstanding amount to GiverImpact where permitted by the Terms & Conditions and applicable law.
Contributions may be processed through PayPal, banks, card issuers, card networks, or other independent payment providers. Refunds and disputes may therefore be subject to their rules, verification requirements, limitations, fees, and processing timelines.
An approved refund will normally be returned through the original payment method and in accordance with the relevant provider’s procedures.
GiverImpact generally cannot send a refund to a different PayPal account, bank account, card, payment method, or individual.
After an approved refund has been submitted, the time required for it to appear in the contributor’s account is controlled by PayPal, the receiving bank, card issuer, or other relevant payment provider.
GiverImpact is a commercial crowdfunding platform and not a charity or non-profit organization.
Platform fees charged to campaign organizers may range from 5% to 30%. The applicable rate may vary based on payment, transfer, withdrawal, currency-conversion, risk, operating, or other transaction-related costs.
A contributor may also choose to provide an optional tip to support GiverImpact. The tip is separate from the campaign contribution and may be changed or removed before confirming payment.
If a refund is approved, the refundable amount will depend on whether the payment provider returns its processing, transfer, currency-conversion, or other fees and whether the optional platform tip is eligible for refund.
Where reasonably possible, we will explain any deduction or non-refundable amount as part of the refund decision.
Removing, closing, or deleting a campaign does not automatically refund all donations.
If a campaign is removed because of suspected fraud, serious misrepresentation, or a violation of GiverImpact policies, we may investigate and determine whether available funds should be refunded to donors.
If a campaign cannot achieve its stated purpose, the organizer may be required to explain how the funds will be used or cooperate with an appropriate refund process.
If you believe your payment method was used without your permission, contact GiverImpact and your payment provider immediately.
We may request identity verification, payment records, account information, or other evidence needed to investigate an unauthorized-payment report.
False claims of unauthorized use may result in account restrictions and may be reported to the relevant payment provider or authorities.
We encourage contributors to contact GiverImpact support before opening a chargeback or payment dispute so that we have an opportunity to review and attempt to resolve the issue.
This does not prevent a contributor from using any dispute, chargeback, unauthorized-transaction, or consumer-protection right independently available through PayPal, a bank, card issuer, applicable law, or another payment provider.
If a dispute is submitted directly to PayPal, a bank, card issuer, or another provider, it will be reviewed and decided according to that provider’s own rules and timelines.
GiverImpact may provide campaign, transaction, account, communication, device, and verification information to the relevant payment provider where reasonably necessary to respond to or investigate the dispute.
GiverImpact may temporarily restrict a related account, campaign, contribution feature, balance, or withdrawal while a refund, dispute, chargeback, or suspected fraud is being investigated.
After reviewing a refund request, GiverImpact may approve it, approve it partially, reject it, or place it on hold while additional information or funds are being obtained.
A decision may consider the date of the request, the reason provided, transaction records, available evidence, campaign status, withdrawal status, availability of funds, payment-provider requirements, and applicable law.
If a request is rejected, the contributor may provide relevant new evidence and ask the support team to review the matter again.
A decision made under GiverImpact’s voluntary five-day Refund Policy does not determine or remove rights that may independently exist through PayPal, a bank, card issuer, another payment provider, or applicable law.
Campaign organizers must provide accurate information, use campaign funds for the stated purpose, keep appropriate records, obtain any necessary beneficiary permission, and cooperate with refund, dispute, KYC, compliance, or fraud investigations.
If a refund, reversal, chargeback, PayPal dispute, bank dispute, or related fee occurs after an organizer receives the funds, the organizer may be responsible for returning the relevant amount and associated costs to GiverImpact.
GiverImpact may deduct amounts owed from the organizer’s current campaign balance, other available balances, or future withdrawals where permitted by the Terms & Conditions and applicable law.
GiverImpact may delay or restrict withdrawals while a refund, payment dispute, fraud report, or compliance investigation remains unresolved.
We may update this Refund Policy to reflect changes to our platform, payment processes, legal obligations, or business operations.
The updated policy will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
