Community standards

All campaigns must be accurate, donations must be authorised, and creators and donors must treat others with respect.

Campaign creators

Creators must present their campaign honestly and remain accountable for the information and funds connected to it.

  • Provide truthful, accurate, and complete information about the purpose, beneficiary, goal, and intended use of funds.
  • Use only images, videos, documents, and stories that you own, are authorised to share, or may lawfully use.
  • Obtain permission before publishing another person's private information, medical details, or likeness.
  • Clearly explain your relationship to the beneficiary and how funds will reach or support them.
  • Use funds for the stated purpose and keep reasonable records showing how money was used.
  • Post honest updates when important circumstances, plans, costs, or the beneficiary's situation change.
  • Respond promptly and truthfully to reasonable requests from GiverImpact for identity, campaign, beneficiary, or supporting information.
If the original purpose becomes impossible, contact GiverImpact before using the funds for a materially different purpose.

Donors and supporters

Donors should give responsibly, use the platform in good faith, and respect campaign creators, beneficiaries, and other community members.

  • Use only a payment method you are authorised to use and provide accurate payment information.
  • Review the campaign information and ask respectful questions before donating when more information is needed.
  • Understand that a donation supports the stated campaign and is not an investment, purchase, or guarantee of a particular outcome.
  • Communicate respectfully and do not harass, threaten, shame, or expose private information about another person.
  • Submit reports and refund concerns honestly, with relevant information, and without using them to intimidate a creator.
  • Respect platform decisions and use official support channels if you disagree with a payment or safety outcome.
  • Do not manipulate donations, comments, reactions, follower counts, or other platform activity.
Donors are encouraged to consider the information available and make their own informed decision before contributing.

Review and enforcement

We consider the available information, the seriousness of the concern, the surrounding context, and any pattern of behaviour.

01

Review the concern

We may review the campaign, account, transactions, reports, supporting documents, and other relevant activity.

02

Request information

We may ask a user to clarify campaign claims, verify identity, confirm the beneficiary, or provide evidence about funds.

03

Take proportionate action

Depending on the issue, we may warn a user, limit features, remove content, pause a campaign, restrict withdrawals, suspend an account, or permanently remove access.

Payments, refunds, and authorities

Where appropriate, we may work with payment providers, review refund options under the applicable policy, preserve relevant records, or report suspected illegal activity to competent authorities.
