At GiverImpact, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information and explaining clearly how your data is collected, used, and protected.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices available to you when using GiverImpact.
GiverImpact is operated by INTERVT LTD, a company registered in England and Wales.
We may collect personal information that you provide directly when creating an account, launching a campaign, making a donation, requesting a withdrawal, contacting support, or otherwise using GiverImpact.
We use the information we collect to provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the GiverImpact platform.
This includes creating and managing user accounts, publishing campaigns, processing donations and withdrawals, providing customer support, sending important notifications, preventing fraud, and complying with applicable legal requirements.
When you register, we may collect information required to create and maintain your account. You are responsible for ensuring that the information associated with your account remains accurate and current.
Some profile information may be displayed publicly when you create a campaign, publish an update, or interact with certain platform features.
When you donate to a campaign, your name, donation amount, message, and other relevant details may be shared with the campaign organizer.
If you select the anonymous donation option, your identity may be hidden from public campaign visitors. However, GiverImpact and its payment providers may still process identifying information when necessary to complete and secure the transaction.
Campaign content and organizer information may be publicly visible to help supporters understand and evaluate a fundraising campaign.
Payments may be processed through trusted third-party payment providers. These providers may collect and process payment details according to their own privacy policies, security procedures, and legal obligations.
GiverImpact does not store complete credit card numbers or full card security codes on its servers.
Campaign organizers may be required to complete GiverImpact’s Know Your Customer (KYC) verification process before a withdrawal is approved or whenever additional verification is reasonably required for compliance, fraud prevention, security, or risk review.
We may collect and process a valid government-issued identity document, passport or driving licence, photograph or selfie, date of birth, residential address, proof of address, phone number, email address, nationality, and other information required to verify the user’s identity.
We may also collect bank account information, PayPal account information, evidence of account ownership, transaction records, campaign documents, beneficiary details, and information explaining the intended use of campaign funds.
When a campaign is created for another person, organization, business, or beneficiary, we may request proof of authorization, beneficiary identification, supporting medical or campaign documents, or business registration and ownership information.
When requested, KYC information may be used to verify identity and account ownership, approve withdrawals, prevent fraud and unauthorized payments, investigate suspicious activity, comply with applicable legal obligations, and protect GiverImpact, campaign organizers, contributors, and payment providers.
Submitted information may be used to conduct identity verification, fraud-prevention checks, anti-money- laundering (AML) reviews, sanctions screening, politically exposed person (PEP) screening, transaction monitoring, and other compliance or risk assessments.
These checks may be conducted directly by GiverImpact or through independent identity-verification, compliance, fraud-prevention, payment, banking, or withdrawal service providers.
We may compare submitted information with public records, official databases, sanctions lists, payment records, device information, and information provided by our service providers where permitted by applicable law.
If verification is incomplete, unsuccessful, inconsistent, expired, or raises security or compliance concerns, we may request additional information, delay or reject a withdrawal, restrict an account, suspend a campaign, or take other action permitted by our Terms and applicable law.
Additional verification may be requested after the first withdrawal, including when payout details change, account activity changes, documents expire, transaction limits are reached, or increased fraud or compliance risk is identified.
We may use cookies and similar technologies to keep users signed in, remember preferences, understand platform usage, measure performance, improve security, and provide a better browsing experience.
You can control or disable certain cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent some platform features from working correctly.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share only the information reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, and protect GiverImpact or to comply with applicable obligations.
Service providers are permitted to process information only for the services they provide to us or as otherwise required by applicable law and their own regulatory obligations.
We use reasonable administrative, organizational, physical, and technical measures intended to protect personal information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Access to identity documents and other sensitive KYC information is restricted to authorized personnel and service providers who require access for verification, payment, security, compliance, dispute resolution, or legal purposes.
Security measures may include access controls, authentication procedures, encrypted transmission, secure storage, activity logging, monitoring, backups, and internal review procedures where appropriate.
However, no website, database, storage system, or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Users should use strong passwords, protect their devices, and keep account credentials confidential.
If we become aware of a personal-data breach, we may investigate it, take reasonable steps to limit its effects, and notify affected users or competent authorities where required by applicable law.
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide our services, process transactions and withdrawals, maintain platform security, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce our agreements, and comply with legal, tax, accounting, payment-provider, or regulatory obligations.
KYC documents, identity-verification results, AML and sanctions-screening records, withdrawal details, and related compliance records may be retained while an account is active and for a reasonable period after the account is closed or the business relationship ends.
Where applicable law or a payment provider requires a specific retention period, verification and transaction records may be retained for that required period. In some cases, this may be up to five years or longer after the relevant transaction or business relationship ends.
Information may be retained for a longer period when reasonably necessary for an active investigation, dispute, chargeback, legal claim, court order, regulatory request, fraud-prevention measure, sanctions requirement, or other legal obligation.
When information is no longer reasonably required, we may securely delete it, anonymize it, or restrict its processing, subject to technical backup cycles and applicable retention requirements.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights relating to your personal information.
Some privacy rights may be limited where retaining or processing information is necessary for KYC verification, anti-money-laundering checks, sanctions screening, fraud prevention, payment processing, withdrawal records, disputes, legal claims, or compliance with applicable obligations.
Closing your account or requesting deletion does not require GiverImpact to delete information that must be retained for legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, security, payment, or compliance purposes.
We may request additional information or identity documents to confirm that a privacy request was submitted by the account holder or a properly authorized representative.
We may send service-related communications about your account, donations, campaigns, withdrawals, security, or important platform changes.
Where permitted, we may also send promotional messages. You can opt out of non-essential marketing communications, but you may continue to receive necessary account and transaction notifications.
GiverImpact may contain links to third-party websites, social networks, payment providers, or other independent services.
We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, availability, or content of those third-party services. Please review their privacy policies before providing personal information.
