My mother, who has never smoked, is battling Stage 4 lung cancer. We are in need of help for her treatments, co-pays, and other related medical bills and expenses. If you can donate, we would appreciate it so much. The last thing I want is for my mother to have to worry about how she is going to pay for all her medical expenses.

Hello! I'm reaching out to ask for help. This is so hard for me to do, as I've always done everything on my own.

Here is my story:

On September 18, 2023, I was in a car accident around 10:00 PM, which totaled my car. That morning, around 10:00 AM, my spouse passed away from oral cancer. When the accident happened, paramedics took me to the hospital, where they performed about 20 x-rays and found a lung nodule in my left lung. They advised me to keep an eye on it and have it checked.

I went to the doctor within a few weeks. Over the next several months, I had a PET scan, bronchoscopy, CT scan, and biopsy. On September 18, 2024, it was confirmed that the lung nodule was positive for lung cancer. That day, my world turned upside down. My life has never been the same.

On October 28, 2024, I had a third of my lung removed. During the procedure, they removed eight lymph nodes, and one came back positive for cancer. Since then, I have experienced numerous toxic infections, fluid around my heart, and severe pain.

I am currently on Tagrisso, a targeted therapy for non-small cell lung cancer, which comes with many side effects. Throughout this treatment, I must undergo multiple scans, including breathing tests, echocardiograms, CT scans, x-rays, and PET scans. The latest scan determined that my cancer has spread to my brain and has reoccurred in my lungs close to my heart.

Each of these scans comes with a co-pay, and I will soon need to start radiation treatment for my brain. My most recent scan has found a new spot growing in my brain, which has been confirmed as cancer.
